5 Times Jennifer Lawrence Proved Herself To Be The Perfect Woman

4. She Loves Really Stupid Movies

There was a bit of a hoo-hah when Lawrence won the 2013 Golden Globe for Best Actress and joked: "I beat Meryl!" While most took this as an affront to fellow nominee Meryl Streep - albeit an affront delivered in a very, very jokey way - she was actually reeling off a quote from the roundly awful 1996 "comedy," The First Wives Club, as later explained in an interview with David Letterman, with whom she's always enjoyed an excellent repartee. It's hardly the first time she's indulged her love of low-brow movies, and is famous for challenging interviewers to ask her to quote from any part of the 1994 Farrelly Brothers comedy, Dumb & Dumber. In fact, she's such a fan of the movie that she will be cameoing in the upcoming sequel, the painfully named Dumb & Dumber To. Considering how packed to the brim Hollywood is with people trying to up each other by lavishing praise on artsy fare from the likes of Fellini, Bergman and Godard - not that there's anything at all wrong with their often masterful works - it's nice to see a major player in the industry showing their nerd love for movies that, you know, normal people enjoy.
