5 Times Jennifer Lawrence Proved Herself To Be The Perfect Woman

3. When She Sang Along To Live & Let Die In American Hustle

I won't pretend to be a big fan of David O. Russell's American Hustle, having found it repetitive and more interested in putting respected actors in ridiculously over-the-top '70s clothes than telling its story. Amy Adams' impossibly sexy con woman may have stolen the show, but the finest individual scene in the movie belonged to the underused Jennifer Lawrence, whose depressed, slightly deranged housewife performs a magnificent rendition of Paul McCartney's classic Bond theme in a pair of marigold rubber gloves to her bemused son. As a lifelong Bond fan, the appeal of this scene to me personally is obvious, but the enthusiasm with which Lawrence throws herself into the performance had the whole cinema in stitches. Lawrence doesn't get much screentime in the film, but she has a fabulous time playing up the character's borderline-schizophrenic emotional swings and neuroses. In this ever-changing world in which we're living, nobody can head-bang their way through a classic rock chorus while cleaning a tabletop quite like J. Law.
