5 Underrated Arnold Schwarzenegger Movies (And 1 That Is Not)
Collateral Damage (2001) Collateral Damage was just not a very good film. Released in the wake of the events of 9/11 to a public living in fear of terrorism, it was never going to be popular. Schwarzeneggers Gordon is a fire fighter who loses his family in a terrorist attack. What follows is Arnie spending an hour and a half tracking down and taking out an entire terrorist network. It plods along from tedious to predictable and despite boasting a decent cast (including Cliff Curtis, Elias Koteas, John Leguizamo and John Turturro) it is a direly underwhelming experience with none of the cast being able to redeem it from sub-standard thriller fare. But surely the kick-ass action scenes are good right? Nope. Which is the most disappointing aspect, given action is Schwarzeneggers biggest selling point. Its all just very dull. The action varies from Arnie running through a jungle being shot at by Colombian terrorists to the big finale (if you havent switched off by then) on American soil in Washington for a big reveal so bland and contrived that arouses shrugs of indifference instead of gasps of shock. Not Arnies finest moment. What are your favourite and least favourite Arnie films? Please do comment with your thoughts below.
