5 Reasons Ghost In The Shell Won't Live Up To Fan Expectations

4. Not The Most Experienced Writer Or Director

Unfortunately, due to a very silly decision back in 2012, Rupert Sanders is now known simply as the director of Snow White and the Huntsman, and 'the bloke who was banging Kristen Stewart'.

Even though the stigma is probably undeserved, it does affect how the fans see the man in charge of their beloved cult classic. Sanders hasn't had much in the way of experience in directing other blockbusters either and even though Snow White was a credible bit of work, it is nowhere near the standard of perfection that Ghost In The Shell needs or deserves to be.

Hopefully Sanders has a surprising amount of cyber punk in him, but the writer of the screenplay is famous for... well... not much. But William Wheeler's screenplay for the 2012 film The Reluctant Fundamentalist did receive a lot of positive feedback and was also a good example of what he can do when given someone else's work to tamper with.

However, neither of these men scream a winning combination, or have shown the sleek creativity necessary to turn Ghost In The Shell into a worthy adaptation.
