Director F. Gary Gray (Friday, The Negotiator, Law Abiding Citizen) helms this biopic of the iconic rap group N.W.A., detailing their rise on the mean streets of Compton, California, their enormous influence on pop-culture throughout the 1980s and 90s, and their eventual decline. As an added touch, Ice Cube's own son, O'Shea Jackson Jr., will be playing Cube, ensuring a ridiculously uncanny likeness sure to make this pic all the more immersive. If Gray and his team get this one right, it could be a riotous snapshot of a very specific American zeitgeist, and considering that there's even been a drive-by-shooting take place during filming, it seems like they might not have a choice.
