It's hard to think happy thoughts about the phrase "Catwoman movie" after the 2004 Halle Berry-starring bomb that nearly ruined the character, but it wasn't always that way. In fact, the much more fondly remembered Catwoman, Michelle Pfeiffer, has stated numerous times that Tim Burton was so up on the character after Batman Returns that he almost put together a spinoff. In an interview with Empire Magazine the actress explained: "For a while, like a brief time, Tim was interested in maybe doing a Catwoman movie, but that didn't really last very long." The project ended up getting caught up in studio politics for years before eventually becoming the Catwoman movie every Batman fan wishes they had never seen.
