50 Comic Book Movies That Almost Got Made

34. Rob Zombie's The Crow

Love him or hate him, Rob Zombie is indeed one of the most interesting filmmakers currently working within the horror genre. He's been troubling audiences with horrific tales since his directorial debut, 2003's House Of 1000 Corpses. However, his first feature film was almost a much different project entirely. Zombie's first film was supposed to be The Crow 2037: A New Age Of Gods And Monsters. Originally intended to be a follow up to 1996's The Crow: City Of Angels, it fell into the wayside after that movie tanked with critics and was poorly received by audiences. The film would have told the story of a young boy and his mother who are murdered on Halloween by a dark priest of the "Fallen One." The boy would have been resurrected by the Crow, but would have forgotten all about the horrors he endured. Twenty-seven years later, the boy would have grown up to become a bounty hunter. He would ultimately regain his memories and set foot on his path to revenge. Given the director's track record, this film would have at least been something to talk about.
