50 Comic Book Movies That Almost Got Made

25. Mort, The Dead Teenager

Mort, The Dead Teenager. This 1993 Marvel mini-series featured a bullied teenager living in a dysfunctional home named Mort who is killed while drag-racing and forced to see the world in a new light with the help of Death€™s son, Teen Death. In the early 2000€™s, none other than director Quentin Tarantino was said to have been interested in producing the movie version of the property. The film was set to have been released by Dimension Films, but it never happened. The script was likely shelved, and who knows if it will ever come to surface. It€™s sad; Tarantino could probably have done something quite interesting with this oddball property, but unfortunately he never did. He did, however, get as far as casting, with Elijah Wood being his ultimate choice to play the titular character (with Jessica Simpson in line to play the undead Mort's love interest).
