Another failed Batman project makes the list, this time with comic book geek extraordinaire, Joss Whedon at the helm. According to the director, his vision was simply so different that there was no way the studio would give the official green-light at the time. His take? Arkham Asylum is home to a Hannibal Lecter-type villain, who serves as a sort of mentor/research subject for Bruce Wayne. The story would unfold during Bruce's early days in Gotham, and have a strong emotional core that would fuel Wayne's Batman outings. Even after all these years the idea of Joss Whedon having a crack at Batman is mind blowing. Hes an admitted life long fan and would have paid proper respect to the franchise. Or at least one would like to think so.
