18. David S. Goyers The Flash
In late 2004, David S. Goyer was attached to write and direct a film focusing on DCs resident fast guy, The Flash, with Charles Roven producing. After directing him in Blade Trinity, Goyer wanted Ryan Reynolds for the role, initially as Wally West and then Barry Allen as the script developed. Citing The Flash as his favorite superhero, Goyer finished the screenplay and submitted it to WB. Despite being "very expensive to make" little is known about the plot. Unfortunately WB didn't like his vision for the film and the project was eventually abandoned. Reynolds went on to play Hal Jordan instead in the critically mauled Green Lantern, but looks set to redeem himself hopefully as Deadpool in 2016.
