50 Greatest James Bond Moments Of All Time

30. The World Is Not Enough: Thames Chase

The Spy Who Loved Me
Eon

From one great Bond pre-credits scene to another, this is one of the franchise's top-tier chase scenes - which is saying something considering there's at least one chase scene in every single one of the films.

After an assassin attacks MI6 headquarters and kills an oil tycoon, Bond chases her in a modified speedboat Q has created, which can also go underwater and drive along on land. The subsequent chase lasts for the best part of ten minutes, yet you'll love every second and when it does finally conclude you'll be disappointed it's over.

The whole set-piece is a sublime cocktail of high-speed thrills, near misses, inventive obstacles, sharp film-making and best of all, hilarious visual gags. Perhaps the single best bit of the chase is when Bond's boat goes underwater and, while submerged, he adjusts his tie.
