47. Count Olaf Lemony Snickets A Series of Unfortunate Events
Count Olaf was an excellently realised villain in a rather underrated adaptation. Jim Carreys performance as the delightfully creepy actor-turned-child-thief carried the film on its own. Olafs initial intentions to have the three protagonists of the story (who are all young children) work as his personal slaves was grotesque enough, but when Olaf killed two other capable guardians under frustratingly unfair circumstances just to keep his new slaves (and their money), he crossed a line into pure evil.
46. White Goodman - Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
Here's another villain that is pure fun. Ben Stiller's hilarious carb-counting gym owner is one of the most memorable comedy villains of the 21st century by far. The character is so hilarious and memorable because he is the outline of every super-buff gym obsessive that we all hate to see showing off. Goodman's bursting ego makes for a hilariously grotesque villain who is pure gold to watch. There's nothing like watching Stiller's absurdly exaggerated expression when his all-star team is beaten by the Average Joe's dodgeball team.
45. Captain Barbossa Pirates of the Caribbean Series
Another villain from Pirates of the Caribbean, Barbossa was modeled after the original pirate bad guy. Before graduating to unlikely (and badly written) hero, Geoffrey Rushs character was actually a fully realised bad guy, and boy was Barbossa a nasty one. Our first true introduction to the grizzly character is when Elizabeth Swan must have dinner with him. His grotesque curse is an excellent antagonistic trait. His unrestrained brutishness makes him a very threatening bad guy. He is the archetypal pirate villain.
