13. The Magnificent Seven

Back in 2012, news first appeared that there was going to be a remake of the pretty much untouchable Magnificent Seven, with Tom Cruise, Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon and with a heavy heart, film fans accepted the inevitable, buoyed by the strength of the cast at least. Since then, that cast has dropped out to be replaced by Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Lee Byung-hun, Vincent D'Onofrio and Matt Bomer among others, so the talent level is still pretty high.

As with any ensemble, there will be concerns over balance, and Antoine Fuqua has a lot on his hands to make sure he does the original justice. He has the ability to make entertaining action movies, that's for sure, and the Frontier setting is incredibly hot right now thanks to The Hateful Eight and The Revenant, so there are a lot of reasons to be excited even beyond the excellent cast.
