50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2016 - Ranked
14. The BFG
More than 25 years since ITV released its wonderful animated adaptation of Roald Dahl's beloved children's book on Christmas Day, 1989, Steven Spielberg is tackling the source for a live action update.
It's exciting for precisely the same reason as the original book and the animated classic; Dahl's glorious story-telling has never been finer, his characters are outrageous and wonderful and there's an element and scale that always made the book an easy sell for big screen treatment. It's odd that it's taken this long, but at least it means Spielberg is available to reignite the spirit of Amblin - and no new Roald Dahl film is a bad one.
It's also just been given an additional boost by Mark Rylance's Oscar nomination for Bridge Of Spies, which was entirely deserved.
