50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2016 - Ranked

8. Doctor Strange

For all of Kevin Feige's excitement about the infinite potential for adaptation in the Marvel Universe, it has taken a long time for the MCU to get to the stage where they're making bold decisions. The oddball Guardians Of The Galaxy came first and knocked it out of the park, and now Feige has set his sights on the difficult prospect of the Comic Marvel Universe and its most famous graduate, Doctor Strange.

It's a brave decision: even though the MCU movies have been more cartoonish and comic-like than their DC counterparts, the introduction of magic, other realms and monsters might be a leap too far from muscle men in tight outfits for the mainstream. Or at least that seems to have been the typical thinking behind the decision to avoid diversity of content and players.

Feige and his company have assembled a great cast: Benedict Cumberbatch is perfect for the Sorceror Supreme, and interesting roles for Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton make this the hippest comic book movie yet imagined.
