7. Finding Dory

It might be a long time since Marlin and Dory teamed up to find Nemo, but Pixar have always known which of their properties was most suitable to sequels (even if that decision is sometimes more lead by marketing money than any actual narrative need - as with the Cars franchise). And the little orange and blue fish have always held a charmed place in Pixar fans' hearts.

Dory's backstory was a source of great hilarity in the original, but when you sat and thought about it, the fact that she was basically exiled because of an accident of her brain pushed the need for a resolution for her beyond finding a new family with the clown fish. She needed an answer to her throw-away devastating "where are they?" comment, and now she'll get one 13 years on, with more colourful characters and more of Pixar's trademark charm.

And maybe this sequel will stop everyone quoting that scientific fact that clown fish change sex and have incestuous sex when they faced with a lack of gender diversity.
