50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2016 - Ranked

1. Captain America: Civil War

Whether you're willing to accept that the original comic book source has been put through a mangle for a final step in the Bucky Barnes trilogy (as it should probably be called), Civil War is the biggest, most exciting MCU movie yet released.

Not only will the film tie up Cap's struggles with modern life, redefine his relationship with Tony Stark, offer Bucky's arc a resolution and kick off Infinity War and Phase 3, it will also introduce Spider-Man and Black Panther, and bring Ant-Man into contact with the Avengers. That's a lot of things going on for one movie, but the reassuring focus on Bucky's story as the anchoring narrative should be cause for confidence, rather than concern.

While it won't see some of the brilliant events of the comic book event - like Spider-Man unmasking, Giant Man dying and Cap being assassinated - the Russos can be depended on to combine epic scale with engaging, personal story elements. And it all feels like a perfect storm that could have stunning results.
