Who would have thought that a stuntman-turned-director would be one of the hottest emerging talents of the 2010s? It almost defies belief, but that's exactly the story for David Leitch, who used to get his checks pretending to be Brad Pitt for difficult sequences.
In truth, Leitch put the time in as a second unit director and stunt coordinator before hitting it big with co-directorial debut John Wick. And next up is a change of pace - a starry global scale spy thriller based on a 1980s Berlin set graphic novel. Charlize Theron is the spy lead, James McAvoy her reluctant cohort, and talent the likes of John Goodman, Toby Jones and Sofia Boutella round out the main cast. Eddie Marsan's there too, but he can be something of a wildcard.
The book's great, the cast is great and this represents an opportunity to see how far Leitch has come since John Wick as he preps to take on Deadpool 2...
