50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2017 - Ranked
9. Wonder Woman
The latest movie that is DEFINITELY going to mark the start of the DC Expanded Universe being any good (don't @ me), Wonder Woman sees the righting of one of cinema's most egregious oversights, giving DC's most famous female character her own movie.
Though DC fans will hate the direct comparison, this is DC's version of Captain America, with a period setting, old-school war sequences and a distinctly vintage flavour. And there's obviously a very pertinent - very welcome - feminist message in there that no other comic book movie maker has quite managed yet to go on top of that familiarity.
The trailer suggests Patty Jenkins has made a gorgeous film that is far more bright and colourful than the other DCEU films (even if the slo-mo still verges on the ridiculous) and it's very, very exciting to see a character like Wonder Woman finally on the big screen properly.
Hopefully they'll keep her in a period setting for a sequel (if one is to come), because Cap's jump to present day robbed MCU fans of those different flavours and opportunities.
