50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2017 - Ranked

For the first time, 2017 sees the release of three Marvel movies in a single year (and no doubt an even bigger year-end haul for Disney than the $3 billion they pulled in last year). The first of those is also the most exciting, as James Gunn brings the most surprising superhero success story back to screens with his particular brand of swagger and outrageous humour.

Having knocked the first movie out of the park, Gunn returns with the same team of heroes (albeit with Groot reimagined as this year's inevitable MVP character Baby Groot), some new team-members (in Nebula, Yondis and newcomer Mantis) and entirely new villains.

Of course there's also the welcome glow of familiarity with an answer to the issue of Peter Quill's paternity coming in the planetary shape of Kurt Russell and a second volume of amazing music for the soundtrack, and all-in-all you'd have to suspect it would take a monumental f*ck up for this not to be the best comic book movie of the year.
