46. The Belko Experiment

2017 Movies
MGM

While everyone frantically chews their finger nails waiting for James Gunn's second take on Guardians Of The Galaxy, there's another opportunity to enjoy his genius with The Belko Experiment, the horror film made by Greg McLean from his script.

The horror, which seems to take elements of The Hunger Games (or more appropriately Battle Royale), sees a group of victims locked in a high-rise corporate office in Bogota, Colombia and ordered by their mysterious captive to participate in a deadly game of kill or be killed. It sounds wonderfully steeped in the genre, and you can be assured that Gunn knows what he's doing.

It's already debuted on the festival circuit, and the review score isn't exactly eye-catching, but the chance to see something so delightfully nostalgic sounding (at least in spirit) and penned by Gunn can't be dampened by that.
