While he's putting together his Suicide Squad remake/reboot, James Gunn is also still producing movies and superhero horror mash-up Brightburn is being marketed as his next big project.

The film - which heavily leans on Superman mythology (so hard in fact that it looks like a shot-for-shot riff on Man Of Steel in the trailer at some points) - is actually directed by Gunn collaborator David Yarovesky. He's previously directed horror film The Hive and directed the David Hasselhoff-starring music video Guardians Of The Galaxy: Inferno from Vol 2.

The trailer landed pretty much out of nowhere and immediately grabbed attention: it basically asks what would happen in Superman came to Earth but was a demon rather than a messianic saviour. And it looks brilliant and also very much in Gunn's wheelhouse.
