Fresh from piling the weight on for Vice, Christian Bale is once more turning to a real life figure for his big 2019 movie. This time he's playing legendary racing figure Ken Miles, who was at the sharpest end of the battle between Ford and Ferrari for motor racing supremacy.

He's joined on the cast by Matt Damon, playing Ford constructor Carroll Shelby, and the likes of Jon Bernthal and Josh Lucas, and Logan's James Mangold is directing the film that was originally set to star Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.

It might seem a little niche, but Ron Howard's Rush proved that there is romanticism and intensity in racing movies to rival boxing and American football (the chief movie sports). And that sort of talent in the cast should guarantee a great watch.
