50 Most Exciting Upcoming Comic Book Movies - Ranked

20. The Sinister Six

Status: Not cancelled yet Due: Who knows, but the Nov 11th 2016 release date remains unmolested. Key Players: Drew Goddard was initially intended to write and direct, with the villains introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man coming back together, including Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan and maybe Jamie Foxx. Who know where they stand now with a new Spider-Man incoming. What€™s It About: The super villains team up - probably to come up with some nefarious plan to take down Spider-Man, though the original plan supposedly didn€™t include the web-slinger as a main player. It was to be a team up movie, but who knows how much of the plan remains. Why We Should Care: If Suicide Squad does well there€™ll be a greater thirst for darker comic book movie properties, and while the new series will no doubt include new characters, there€™s no reason why the ensemble can€™t still get together.

19. Black Panther

Status: Announced Due: Feb 16th 2018 Key Players: Marvel might have struggled to find a director, but Chadwick Boseman will return as The Black Panther after his debut in Civil War and it€™s likely Andy Serkis will also reprise his role as Ulysses Klaue. What€™s It About: Having come to America to deal with his father€™s murderer, T€™Challa will probably return to Wakanda to deal with his country€™s other big menace - Klaue and his thirst for Vibranium. Why We Should Care: Aside from the obviously positive injection of diversity, Black Panther is a game-changer in terms of what he offers as a character. He offers an opportunity for an entirely different genre within the comic book movie medium (just as Ant-Man added comedy and heists). Plus, seeing more of Andy Serkis€™ Klaue is a great thing.
