50 Most Exciting Upcoming Comic Book Movies - Ranked

16. Ant-Man & The Wasp

Status: Confirmed Due: July 6th 2018Key Players: Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily are back, Michael Douglas might be and Peyton Reed should direct again. What€™s It About: Following on from the first film, Scott Lang will continue to grow into his role as a superhero (now with Avengers backing), Hank Pym will presumably explore the chance to rescue his long lost wife from the Quantum Realm and Hope Van Dyne will grow into her costume as wasp. Why We Should Care: No matter how annoyed everyone was when Edgar Wright left the project, Ant-Man was brilliant. It was funny, charming and well-staged, and Paul Rudd€™s charisma put him on parr with Chris Pratt€™s in terms of genius casting decisions. Seeing more of The Wasp in a shared leading role is an even greater addition, given the pair€™s chemistry and the chance to follow the rabbit hole into the Quantum Realm is both brave and scary. Which is precisely what makes it so exciting.

15. Wonder Woman

Status: Announced Due: June 23rd 2017 Key Players: Patty Jenkins will direct and of course Gal Gadot returns as Wonder Woman after debuting in Justice League. She€™s joined by Chris Pine as Steve Trevor and Nicole Kidman is rumoured to be playing her mother. What€™s It About: Rumoured to be set over three time periods (including World War I), Wonder Woman will offer an origin for DC€™s most famous Amazonian princess. Why We Should Care: Well, it€™s about time someone made a good female-centric superhero movie and used the great source material to give Wonder Woman the screen treatment she deserves. And anything that breaks the Superman/Batman duopoly is a good thing.
