1. Ben Affleck As Bruce Wayne/Batman

Speaking of initial scepticism, when Ben Affleck was announced as Batman the venom from fans was spat in his direction en masse. Met with a batsh*t crazy amount of internet outrage there was no way the guy from such cinematic classics as Paycheck and Gigli would be able to change so many minds and pull this off.

Who knew he'd turn out to be the best thing to happen to the DCEU.

Ben Affleck's turn as Batman is the perfect blend of grizzled anger needed to sell the whole 'dressing up as a bat and beating people up' idea, whilst on the other side of the personality we have the pitch-perfect charming smirk of pretend playboy Bruce Wayne.

We've had decent Batmen before but they've always been unbalanced. Where Keaton made a great Batman his Bruce was always a little off with this being the opposite for Bale. Here, both sides of the Dark Knight come together so well it's difficult to believe this is the same actor that gave us Daredevil.

The addition of Affleck to the DCEU brings with it real excitement and some much needed positivity. His talent as a director is a given but now we've seen how good he is as Batman, perhaps there is still hope for the struggling universe yet.

And now on to the stinkers...
