6 Best & 6 Worst Comic Book Movie Performances Of 2016
5. Oscar Isaac - Apocalypse (X-Men: Apocalypse)
Seeing an actor of such talent as Oscar Isaac being wasted in a role as dull as Apocalypse is never going to be an enjoyable experience. The character was condemned from day one when the image of him looking like a cheap Power Rangers villain emerged online, yet despite the giggles and groans at his comedic appearance nobody doubted the potential in the casting of Isaac.
Unfortunately he does nothing of interest whatsoever with the role as the X-Men's most powerful villain, who is whittled down to nothing more than a cliched speech shouting, blueish-purple...cheap Power Rangers villain. The X-Men franchise has had the likes of Brian Cox and Ian McKellen on villain duties in the past with both turning in terrific performances and most expected Isaac to join that list. We cetainly did not expect him to be the worst villain of the franchise.
The man who has excelled in films across a variety of genres delivered one of the most forgettable performances of the year and trying to comprehend that it is Isaac underneath that awful makeup requires the power of all the X-Men combined.
