6 Best Uses For Henry Cavill In DCEU's Future
2. New Gods
It's not an obvious pairing, but without a currently established cosmic character like Green Lantern in the DCEU, Superman seems to make the most sense in terms of bridging the gap between Earth and Apokolips.
The New Gods movie in the works, written by filmmaker Ava DuVernay and DC writer Tom King, won't necessarily connect to the DCEU, especially if their version of Darkseid contradicts with whatever we end up seeing in the Snyder Cut (if that will even become canon). But with a fascinating roster of characters in Kirby's Fourth World, it would seem a waste to throw away the opportunity to bring them together with the pre-established characters somewhere later down the line.
A good comparison would be the Guardians of the Galaxy's use in the MCU. They had no contact with the main Avengers characters for a good few years, and while we knew they shared a continuity, there were only tangentially related characters and events before they pulled the trigger in Infinity War by introducing them to Thor.
Superman's role could be comparable to that, stumbling upon the New Gods at some point in the future, while on an intergalactic jaunt to the site of Krypton's destruction. Then crashing down to earth like Banner into the Sanctum Santorum, with the words: 'Darkseid is coming!'
