6 Crossover Events We Want To See In The MCU

5. Evolutionary War

The High Evolutionary is a geneticist hailing from Earth who ends up living in space in a suit of armour and tampering with the evolutionary advancement of various races throughout the universe. He also builds a second Earth at one point, but that's not really important to the plot of the Evolutionary War. No, the Evolutionary War sees the man once known as Herbert Wyndham constructing a bomb that will alter all life on Earth unless he's stopped. There are a lot of elements to Evolutionary War that can't possibly be adapted for the screen given how it's a particularly convoluted story that involves more tangled plot threads than could ever be done justice in a two hour cinematic run time. What would work however, is showing the Evolutionary begin his plan to alter the course of the world and dispatch his forces to make it happen. With this strange cosmic threat gradually being unveiled to our heroes as an ex-denisen of Earth obsessed with gaining god-like powers, the impetus would be there for the Avengers to assemble once more to battle the Evolutionary's forces, disable the bomb and generally ponder whether or not humanity could actually do with a genetic shot in the arm (so long as the end results aren't mutants, the MCU still can't show those). Evolutionary War would probably need the most brutal changes to make it to the screen, but with Agents of SHIELD already showing genetic alteration thanks to the Inhumans' Terrigen Mist, and a new threat needed after Thanos is put down, it would pose an interesting moral question for our heroes.
