You could be forgiven for forgetting that the Turtles movies are all based on a comic book, but that's where the heroes in a half-shell originated.

The story of Judith Hoag's time as April O'Neil on the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is something of a Hollywood legend. There was also some mystery about why she didn't return for the subsequent two sequels, with Paige Turco stepping in as the intrepid journalist instead.

Turco eventually answered that question, however, when she spoke to Variety around the time of the reboot's release. She apparently wasn't even asked back, and she blames that on how much complaining she did on set, particularly about the six-day schedule and the amount of violence in the movie.

She also said there were some issues with her costume, which was initially going to be the yellow jumpsuit of the cartoon before it was nixed. And her hair, which she says was unmanageable. Yeah, about that complaining...
