6 MORE Comic Book Movie Actors Replaced In The Sequels

The Replacement: Stefan Kapicic

Daniel Cudmore was the first actor to play Colossus for the mainline X-Men movies - in The Last Stand and Days Of Future Past - but when the time came for the character to actually talk in the Deadpool movies, he wasn't considered a viable option. Despite looking pretty much exactly as you'd want the big metal Russian to look.

Instead, he was replaced by gigantic stuntman Andre Tricoteux (if you want someone to play a good or a thug in a movie, he's your guy), whose 6'9 frame more than answered the call. His face apparently didn't though as the motion capture work for his actual face was sneakily done by effects artist Greg LaSalle, who specialises in facial mo-cap. On top of that, Stefan Kapicic came in to give Colossus his trademark heavy accent.

By the time the Deadpool sequel came about, LaSalle was no longer on the effects team and instead Kapicic did the extensive motion captire work to add in Colossus' expressions, which is why he looks ever so slightly different. Not that you noticed.
