Brian Blessed. Those two words are enough to make anybody with a heart smile. The man is a British institution and a truly iconic and legendary figure in a world in which the term "legend" is thrown around all too often undeservedly. Now 77 years of age, Blessed has lived one of the most remarkable, fulfilling, interesting and eventful lives that any human being could ever hope to live. He has acted, presented, explored, climbed mountains, boxed, turned his hand to football punditry and even appeared on television as the legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti - can anybody in the world boast such a versatile résumé? Wonderfully, he is still showing no signs of slowing down and is still very much active in every sense of the word and that got us thinking: Wouldn't it be great to see Brian Blessed back on the big screen in one of the many ongoing comic book movie franchises that are proving so popular with audiences these days? He certainly isn't averse to fantasy roles, given that he has appeared in the likes of Flash Gordon, Doctor Who and provided the voice of Boss Nass in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. We think he'd be brilliant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the DC Cinematic Universe, for example, and here is why.
