4. Emanuelle And The Last Cannibals (1977)
Okay. So the way you get crazed mental patients in straightjackets who have just bitten off a nurse's breast to make sense is to masturbate them. If it works for the delightful Laura Gemser (the titular Emanuelle), it will work for you! Imagine Cannibal Ferox mixed with... Emmanuelle and you get rather obviously - Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals - an outright sleazy, seedy film which mixes cannibal based horror with softcore porn. Everyone is a voyeur in this film. There is much quietly observed sexual enjoyment from watching people copulate in public places. There is also horrible male castration in close up - but no blood spurts from the wound. Obviously a latex penis. Emanuelle doesn't really do much in this film, except for the soft core porn sequences. There is an amusing part in the movie when Emanuelle and another woman are in a lake bathing each others' pubic regions whilst a cigarette smoking chimp looks on. Yes D'Amato makes this film classy all the way. It was very opportunistic of him to mix sex and cannibals, but the movie is never boring - there is always something perverse and seedy happening on the screen to keep perverts like me happy. It is much more fun than D'Amato's Erotic Nights of the Living Dead which mixed hardcore sex with zombies. The soundtrack gets very melodious in a cheesy sexploitation kind of way when the characters get down to business which adds to the overall enjoyment. I thoroughly recommend Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals for those who like seedy exploitation - D'Amato really delivers the goods.
