6 Shocking Signs Batman V Superman Could Actually Be Good

5. The Introduction Of Kryptonite

How do you stop a supervillain trying to force his nemesis into an unstoppable situation at the climax of their destructive battle? Ignoring for a second that that "unstoppable situation" was caused by a family who clearly could have avoided Zod's laser beams (and that four is a footnote after how many Kal-El has tried to kill), it rang a bit hollow when the answer was just "kill him". Of course, the ending of Man Of Steel is just a small part of the big problem with Superman's sheer-overpoweredness. Comic writers figured out the solution half-a-century ago, but it was something oddly absent from Zack Synder's original go round with Supes (not "gritty" enough?). Yes, Kryptonite. Thankfully, it looks like Lex Luthor's going to be introducing the green-glowing rock (as well a conspicuous hair piece) ready to use as a weapon against Superman (probably). Rumoured for a long time to be used by Batman in his armoured anti-Supes suit, we got final confirmation of the remnants of Krypton appearing in the Comic-Con trailer. How it'll be used - a key plot point, a set up for a later movie, the cause of Lex's baldness - remains to to be seen, but it is reassuring it's there for sure.
