6 Simple Predictions For Guardians Of The Galaxy

4. The Infinity Gems Will Be Explored More

Getting more into the narrative aspects of the Guardians, there is one element that everyone is familiar with at this point if they're caught up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe: the Infinity Gems are prevalent, and so is the Infinity Gauntlet itself. First appearing in Thor in Odin's museum of collectables, the Infinity Gauntlet was first seen as a small nod towards Thanos and the Infinity Gems themselves. But as the Marvel Cinematic Universe began opening up we were introduced to the Tesseract, which could be considered the Blue Gem that gives the user of the Gauntlet power over the mind. Then with Thor: The Dark World the Aether was broached, filling the slot of the designated Red Gem of Power. And in the mid-credits scene introducing Taneleer Tivan (the Collector) in The Dark World, the Aether was brought to him by Sif and Volstagg, with Tivan announcing "One down, five to go." Altogether, this was an obvious nod that the Infinity Gauntlet was to come into play later in the future. How the Collector will fit into the narrative has yet to be seen, but whatever the case may be it can't be good for the Guardians. If Tivan possesses one of the gems already, and the Guardians end up being part of the eventual struggle over the gems, then things are looking communally stark. There is one subject related to the Infinity Gauntlet, however, that is indeed most apparent in the Cinematic Universe as of now. Which leads to the next prediction...
