6 Surprising Developments That Could Rock The Marvel Cinematic Universe
3. The Avengers 3 - Rumour 2: Two Avengers Movies After Age Of Ultron?
This might explain the absence of some of the bigger characters in a third Avengers film. Two back-to-back films - might be a 'solution' to that problem and allow for more characters, more screen time and less chance of the big players being killed off or recast too soon. As to what this two-part Avengers means, we dont know. Iron Man, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are rumoured to be key players in the first half; perhaps the films ends on a cliffhanger - Thanos obtaining the Infinity Gauntlet? - leading to every hero, Cap and Thor included, returning for one hell of a battle in the fourth. Avengers: Age Of Ultron already looks to be globally epic in scale; a two part movie that ends with all our favourite heroes united to stop Thanos would make for a bigger, bolder follow up. Not just Thanos (though he is likely); the civil war story line has also been floated out there. Given the events that took place in that story, two films would be needed to do it justice on the big screen. Split films are certainly a great way of bringing the serialised nature of these epic stories into the cinematic universe. Not to mention the phenomenal piles of cash two-parters are certainly destined to make!
