In 2013, Turbo was the fastest snail in the world, and he took over £250m at the box office worldwide. Even though that year this little animated garden snail raked in more than Bruce Willis in A Good Day to Die Hard, it was still one of the lowest-grossing films in Dreamworks Animation history. The studio needed to find another way to make the franchise profitable, so it turned to TV. Turbo FAST is a Netflix original series and part of a five-year deal with Dreamworks, who will produce around 300 hours of original program for the streaming channel, while the show itself picks up where the movie left off, with Reid Scott (Dan Egan in HBO's Veep) voicing the titular character. It's great that Netflix are investing in original content for children, especially as kids wear out shows and movies quicker than a pair of school trousers. Turbo FAST - Season Three zooms onto tablets and TVs from February 5th.
