6 Things New To Netflix This Week (Feb 1)

2. Kill Bill: Volume 2

Uma Thurman is today's social media assassin, slaying one million Bill memes on your timeline, but a decade ago she was doing it for real in the concluding volume of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill saga. All his usual hallmarks are present, from an eclectic soundtrack which fuses spaghetti westerns, mexican funk and a 60s TV theme, to a bit part from Samuel L. Jackson, who plays a chain-smoking pianist called Rufus. Originally cut in one, four hour masterpiece, the studio wisely asked for Kill Bill to be split in two. Honestly, an intermission wouldn't have gone amiss during The Hateful Eight, which clocks in at a mighty three hours (the 70mm version did include one, but the wider release version didn't). From the Buried Alive scene to the comically dramatic final scene, it's the action-packed quick hit you need to help slay a couple of hours. Kill Bill: Volume 2 is back on Netflix now.
