A TV spin-off of one of Alfred Hitchcock's most treasured films could have been a complete disaster. Thankfully, Bates Motel has been lovingly hand-crafted by former Lost executive producer Cartlon Cuse, and offers you a well-established but still fascinating Walter White-style premise which keeps getting better. New to the show? Season one begins after Norman and his Mother buy a hotel, while in season two Norma really steps up after a particularly gruesome cliffhanger. What could that be? Does it involve a knife and a shower? The show looks stunning and is beautifully put together. Universal opted not to shoot the quasi-remake at the original house and motel which is still on their lot in Los Angeles, in favour of a set that would be able to stand up to today's HD standards. Season four is about to air in the US, so avoid all spoilers and get binge-watching season three of the suspense-filled Bates Motel, on Netflix from March 1st.
