Something Wild is the cult Jeff Daniels film you've never seen. Eight years before he starred as Harry Dunne in comedy road trip movie Dumb & Dumber, Daniels turned out as Charlie Driggs, a mild-mannered banker who escapes from his cheating wife by hitching a ride with sexy brunette Melanie Griffith, in a comedy road-trip movie. Lulu takes Charlie back to her hometown for a high school reunion, where they bump into Griffith's bad boy ex-boyfriend Ray Liotta, starring in his first major film role. His eyes are as intense now as they were back then. All three main cast members were nominated for awards at the Golden Globes the following year, while the director Jonathan Demme, just three movies later, would win go on to win an Oscar for Silence of the Lambs Something Wild has that quirky, innocent charm you only get with 80s films. Seek it out from March 1st.
