Bill Murray playing the President of the United States? Hell yeah. It's 1939 and the world is on the brink of war. Franklin D. Roosevelt, six years away from dying, summons his distant cousin Daisy Suckley (Laura Linney), to visit him. They embark on a... Err, romantic relationship. Turns out POTUS was at it with a few other women too, but you'll have to watch the movie to find out more. Hyde Park on Hudson centres on a visit from King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to his residence in New York called Hyde Park, and is based on journals Suckley kept which were found after her death in 1991. The Pathe News footage used in the film is real, even if creative licence is taken over FDR's sexual life, but regardless - it's another piece of Bill Murray genius. Stand up and salute Hyde Park on Hudson as it makes its Netflix entrance on January 16th.
