6 Things New To Netflix This Week (Jan 11)

4. Reign

A historically-inaccurate fantasy romp through the 16th century, Reign is TV's best-kept secret right now. It's pitched at a slightly younger audience than you'd find binging on Game of Thrones (The Lumineers do the theme tune), and it is to Kings Landing what The Vampire Diaries is to Transylvania. Season one was solid and season two was bumpy, which makes the successful season three all the more satisfying, knowing US network the CW has spent time and effort in getting it back on track. Reign has a young, sexy cast, too. Behind the bellowing dresses and ruffs, look out for Kiefer Sutherland's brother, Rossif, while former Neighbours actress Adelaide Kane plays the main protagonist Mary, Queen of Scots. Netflix are rolling out Reign one episode at a time; if you're looking for something sultry, opulent and downright devious until the Lannisters return in April, then catch up before you start on series three, streaming now.
