Sam Neill, he can work with dinosaurs AND sheep. Set in 1969, The Dish centres on the Apollo 11 moon landing, during which NASA needed to have full global satellite coverage - so they struck a deal with Australia, who built a dish in the middle of a sheep farm. Ah, that famous Aussie sense of humour. Spoiler alert - Neil Armstrong did eventually walk on the moon. Sam Neill plays the owner of the sheep farm, while a young Patrick Warburton (Joe Swanson in Family Guy) plays a bemused NASA representative. The real dish still exists; The Parkes 64 metre radio telescope can be found at the Parkes Observatory in New South Wales if you fancy some Google Earth action after the movie. The Dish is well worth a watch for a bit of retro fun. Tune in to Netflix on March 23rd.
