If this BAFTA award-winning Scottish comedy passed you by then December 1st is your lucky day. Written by Greg McHugh (Howard from Fresh Meat), Gary: Tank Commander follows the story of a hapless soldier in the British Army, having been commissioned from a pilot produced as part of the BBC's Comedy Unit back in 2008. Iraq and Afghanistan have never looked so bleak and that's because the show is filmed on location in Scotland, where some viewers initially complained that it made light of such a serious subject matter. Thankfully, nobody else agreed and Gary: Tank Commander rolled on for a second series. Hurrah. If you like what you see from this military sitcom then look out for tickets to see Greg in a limited run of stage shows back as Gary McLintoch in the later half of 2016.
