6 Things We Can Expect From Suicide Squad 2 With Gavin O'Connor As Director

1. A Batfleck Appearance

With Ben Affleck's Batman future in serious doubt, what better way to get him to stick around than by bringing one of his former collaborators into the DC Extended Universe?

Consider this: Affleck had a fantastic time working with O'Connor on The Accountant. Creatively, they clicked, and Affleck had a lot for respect for the director before they even made the movie together - interviews like this Collider one, where Affleck gushes about O'Connor at every opportunity, are all the proof you need.

So now, with O'Connor set to helm Suicide Squad 2, wouldn't it make sense for Affleck to make an appearance and once again work with a director he greatly admires?

Bear in mind that O'Connor pitched his own version of the movie to Warner Bros, who then approved of it. After just recently working with Affleck, who's to say that pitch didn't include him in the movie? Is that why the studio were so supportive, quickly sending O'Connor off to write his story?

We're getting into speculative territory here, but if we boil all this down, the likelihood of Ben Affleck appearing in a Gavin O'Connor-directed Suicide Squad 2 is high - if the actor is still our Batman.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
