2. The Designs Will Be Staying Traditional
https://twitter.com/TheSHBulletin/status/663761453225152512 Marvel Studios has a habit of embracing the classic elements of its characters costumes in a way that other properties have been afraid to. In fact, the only iconic piece of costume design weve seen little of is Thors winged helmet, which only popped up briefly at the start of his first solo film. Aside from that, the majority of heroes and villains have retained strong elements of what made them so interesting in the first place and allowed them to endure for so many decades. Kevin Feige has already revealed a glimpse of concept work on Stranges costume at Comic Con but the photos of Baron Mordos robes offer the best indication yet of the films design direction. A rugged and humble hood covers some actually rather grand coverings, showing that the mystics in this corner of the MCU arent shy about flaunting their otherness. It seems likely then that well get at least two versions of Stranges costume, one ornate and in-keeping with those worn by Baron Mordo and, presumably, the Ancient One and one more suited to walking the streets of Manhattan where his Sanctum Santorum is located. Given how Mrdo is dressed pretty much exactly how any regular readers would expect him to be it would seem pretty inconceivable for Doctor Strange not to rock a big red and gold cape and be wearing the Eye of Agamotto around his neck by the films end.
