4. The Baseball Bat Is Probably Black Canary’s
The teaser is made up of several quick cuts of the main character, and without the recognisable faces of Margot Robbie, Chris Messina, and Ewan McGregor, could easily pass for a fashion store commercial. Two of the shots are of Harley’s iconic weapons - her mallet and baseball bat - but there may be more than immediately meets the eye.
For one thing, there are no tattoos visible on the arms or torso in the baseball bat shot. That could just mean Harley gets rid of her tattoos. However, considering she has them in the other shots which show her face, that theory is a little dead in the water.
On closer inspection, the skin tone seems darker than Margot Robbie’s too, and that’s without the added paleness of Harley’s character. In fact, it seems most likely to be Jurnee Smollett-Bell, who plays Black Canary.
The mallet, marked with harlequins and in a shot with some boots that fits Harley’s style, gives us no reason to doubt she’s holding it. Does the suggestion that the bat is Black Canary’s mean the jester hands the bat over to her at some point?
