6 Underground Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs

2. The Totally Shameless Product Placement

Anyone who's ever seen a Michael Bay movie before will appreciate that he's a shameless shill who has no problem inserting aggressive product placements into his works.

And while there's nothing here as egregiously, hilariously bad as the infamous Bud Light scene from Transformers: Age of Extinction, there are countless blatant paid placements featured throughout the film.

Where to begin? A Lavazza coffee truck is literally part of the opening action sequence and we later see Ryan Reynolds' protagonist sipping a cup of tasty Lavazza brew, there's an hilarious shot of a bottle of Captain Morgan's spiced rum (above), close-ups of Chopard watches and Gatorz sunglasses, and literally dozens of other "cameos" for various beers, cars, and clothing brands.

While many may find it easy enough to ignore, once you start to notice product placement in movies it unfortunately becomes incredibly difficult not to notice, especially when it's this unapologetically obvious.
