6 Ways Suicide Squad Trailer Fixes Batman V Superman's Mistakes

2. It Has Legitimate Conflict

We know that Batman will be moody and depressed, and won€™t trust Superman. Superman will be righteous and fearful of Batman€™s methods, his superiority complex guiding his decision-making. They€™ll fight. Neither can win, really, because to do so is to lay claim that one is inherently better than the other - bad for future solo film business (in a €œwhy am I watching Superman beat this guy when he couldn€™t even beat Batman?€ kind of way). So instead, they team up against another foe, and win, discovering their friendship in the process. That's Batman V Superman right there. It€™s, somewhat regrettably, a stale concept that will make for an unexciting relationship between the two, and for less actual stakes than a vegan restaurant. Suicide Squad has roughly ten batsh*t crazy characters who don€™t give a damn about each other€™s safety, which will make for some insane fireworks - both personality-wise and in terms of action. There€™ll be surprises, and actual consequences on the line, judging from the fact that half of the characters clearly won€™t make it to the end with their hearts still beating.
