20. That Horrifying Nightmare Sequence - Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Early in the movie, Sarah has a vision of the nuclear apocalypse which she believes is awaiting mankind, though the full extent of her fears aren't realised until she takes a nap mid-movie and has a full-on nightmare about it. The terrifically horrific sequence shows Sarah watching a younger version of herself (complete with waitress uniform) playing with a young John at a park, seconds before the bombs fall and the entire area is obliterated. Cameron covers the carnage in painstaking detail, as human bodies catch on fire and eventually "blow apart like leaves", as Sarah so succinctly put it earlier in the movie. It's incredibly shot and probably one of the best-aged parts of the whole film. Superbly screwed up.
19. Guns N' Roses Callback - Terminator Salvation
An amusing if ridiculously ham-fisted shout-out to T2 takes place in Salvation's third-act, as John sets a trap to capture one of the Moto-Terminators, blaring out Guns N' Roses' iconic tune You Could Be Mine to attract the machine's attention. He then sets up a rope and trips up the bike as it drives past. There's not really much of a reason for it other than to nod to fans, but really, it's just more of a reminder that the movie can't live up to the series' previous brilliance.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
